Duthoo has a colour laboratory where colour experts work on developing colours every day. Despite the many digital measuring devices we (can) use, we believe in the importance of the human eye. Hence, the expertise of our colourists is essential for good colour development.
Over the years, we have reproduced more than 20,000 colours: from stain colours for finishing wood, paint colours for protecting MDF to powdered wet paint colours for coating PVC or metal. Reproduction based on a sample
STEP 1
COLOUR ANALYSIS
After receiving a sample, we search our extensive database with our spectrometer. This is to check whether we have already developed the colour. If so, we can have the colour shipped within 24 hours. If not, we will have to develop it.
STEP 2
COLOUR DEVELOPMENT
Taking into account the customer's desired quality and substrate, our colour experts get to work. Usually, such colour development is done in
several steps, each time mixing a customised recipe and spraying it onto a sample. After drying, this is assessed in the light cabinet, under different light sources. This process is repeated until the optimal colour is obtained.
STEP 3
DISPATCH OF THE COLOUR SAMPLE
The final colour sample is sent together with the original and any quantity of product. A lead time of 10 working days on average must be taken into account for steps 2 and 3.
